About MMG Rosebery
MMG Rosebery is an underground polymetallic base metal mine located in the township of Rosebery in Tasmania, Australia.
The Mine has been at the heart of the Rosebery community since 1936 and is one of Tasmania’s largest and oldest continuously operating, underground mines producing zinc, copper and lead concentrates, as well as gold ore.
It supports approximately 500 workers and their families, has a strong community focus and engages a wide range of local businesses from across Tasmania in its supply chain, boosting the economy of the west coast of Tasmania and beyond.
Rosebery offers exceptional outdoor experiences with fishing, canoeing, white water rafting, rock climbing and walking at your doorstep and the MMG office in Burnie, gives employees the flexibility to work from there when they are not required onsite.
Human Resource Business Partner
We have an exciting opportunity for a driven Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) to join us at our Rosebery operation in Tasmania.
As the HRBP, you will understand and support the operating model and provide valuable, practical advice in line with MMG’s People Policy, Standards, Code of Conduct, and applicable legislation.
Reporting through to the HR Manager, the HRBP will serve as a strategic partner to the Rosebery Mine, providing comprehensive HR support and driving the execution of HR initiatives to align with MMG’s vision. The HRBP will work closely with leaders and employees to foster positive work relationships, build morale, increase productivity, and retain talent.
This role is based on a 5/2:4/3 roster, residential to Rosebery or DIDO from any location in Tasmania.
Responsibilities of the role will include;
- Provide operational HR and employee relations advice on matters relating to sourcing approaches, employment terms and conditions, employment legislation and the interpretation of multiple industrial instruments/awards.
- Coach leaders on all people matters including change, communications, culture and performance.
- Actively engage with Operations and Functional Leadership Teams at Rosebery to leverage systems and processes to enhance workforce productivity.
- Assist with maintaining employee records and other compliance controls.
- Provide advice and support to managers, supervisors and employees as to the key principles of MMGs remuneration system.
Qualifications Skills and Competencies;
- Strong site-based Human Resources experience or similar.
- Experience interpreting and negotiating Enterprise Agreements.
- Experience and confidence liaising with Unions and other third-party organisations.
- Excellent interpersonal and management skills with the ability to lead, influence and motivate teams of professionals to achieve operational and business targets.
- High level of conceptual and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and implement strategies and improvements.
